Outfit: Blazer, Shorts- Old Navy old/ Shirt- UO/ Shoes- Guess/ Watch- DKNY/ Earrings- Bebe

Last week I didn't get a chance to participate in Style Me Friday and I was really bummed.  I was determined to get back in the game this week!  The challenge for this week is the short suit.  My outfit isn't a suit per se, rather separates both from Old Navy purchased at different times...possibly different years.  I rescued both pieces from my "to donate" box earlier this year.  Don't know why I was giving away a white blazer?!  I thought the shorts were outdated, but thankfully I had the foresight to keep them since Bermuda shorts are making a come back.  I also rediscovered these T-strap Guess heels which made this look way more pulled together than the flip-flops I wore shopping after taking pics :).  Prissy do you remember you helped me find these???  Prissy is a shoe shopping genius!  Head over to The Fashionista Next Door to see how others rocked their short suits! Happy Fridayyy!

Overalls anyone???

Outfit: Overalls- Buffalo Exchange/ Tank- F21/ Lace Duster- Lily Kai/ Wanted Brave Booties/ Lucky Brand Bracelet

Words cannot express how much I love these overalls!  I had been on the hunt for a pair for months when I came across these at Buffalo Exchange.  The brand is BDG by Urban Outfitters.  They fit like a glove.  In fact, I wish all my jeans fit like this!  I would personally like to thank the individual that sold or swapped these at Buffalo Exchange.  I foresee them being a part of my wardrobe for a looong time.  If you haven't checked out Buffalo Exchange, you definitely should.  They have a smorgasbord of unique pieces that you're not likely to find in one place!  Here's another example of what you can find there.

Brit Girl Does: The Great Gatsby

L to R:
Dea of Pretty Girls Rock Dresses, Studio Movie Grill Manager, and hostess Breck of Fashion Without Guilt

Me and the girls hamming it up =D

Outfit: Shirt, Pants- Express old / Vest- Banana Republic thrifted / Hat, Socks- UO / Shoes- Wanted
On Friday I had the opportunity to see The Great Gatsby.  Admittedly I'm not a big movie buff, but it had me glued from start to finish.  The costumes and scenery definitely conveyed the feeling of being in the 1920s.  Being dressed for the occasion also contributed to this feeling.  Then just as you felt immersed in the early twentieth century, you were whisked forward 80 years to bottles being popped and Jay Z's New York anthem.  If I read this book in high school, I don't remember it at all.  I definitely am planning to read it now, after finals of course :).  Ultimately it was a love story. Boy was Leo in love!  Imagine someone building you a castle fit for a queen and you not even knowing it or he was there.  Okay, I've said to much...  If you didn't get a chance to see the movie this weekend, definitely go check it out.  If you did see it, what did you think???

Beautiful models wearing Suakoko Betty

Outfit:
Dress- Delia's/ Necklace- F21/ Shoes- Guess
Man, time is flying!  I attended the Suakoko Betty Trunk Show at Hodgepodge Coffeehouse a couple of weeks ago.  This was my first time seeing the collection and I was really in awe of the rich materials and eclectic designs.  Charlene truly has an eye for beauty!  I rocked a somewhat tribal look with this dress I got from Delia's a year or so ago.  Y'all know my style is somewhere between flower child and rock star :).  I purchased a really pretty dress at the event that I'm envisioning wearing on a beach with white sand and turquoise water.  I really need a vacay...
Happy Hump Day, xoxo

Mixed Prints: Polka Dots & Stripes

Blazer, Earrings-Thrifted/ Shorts- UO/ Shoes- Jessica Simpson Cecelia / Bracelets- F21
Last weekend I had the opportunity to participate in the Thrifting Atlanta Style Wars Fashion Show.  The challenge was for the participants to showcase thrifted pieces that are currently on trend.  My category was the short suit.  I am absolutely enamored with this blazer!  I came across it while thrift shopping at my local Value Village on half price day.  It was less than $5!?!  I love how the high/low peplum  provides a little coverage and made the shorts less risque ;).  The other categories included peek-a-boo leather and black & white.  Check out more event photos here.

In My White Tee

Inspiration photo

Shirt- Thrifted/ Skirt- BCF/ Shoes- 80 20/ Clutch- Steve Madden/ Cuff- H&M
Hi guys!  I'm actually on time with my Style Me Friday post, woot!  The challenge this week was to style a plain white tee.  As luck would have it, I don't own one *insert sad face* therefore I improvised with this white top that I thrifted for $1. Booyah!!!  When I'm thrifting I generally go for items that stand out, but for some reason I was drawn to this shirt.  I envisioned wearing it during the summer months just like this sorta...although when I'm not taking blogs pics I'd opt to wear a very simple pair of sandals.  I've heard people say that confidence is the key ingredient to looking good and being comfortable is the key to confidence so there you have it :).  I look forward to wearing a lot of flowy dresses and simple tops paired with a skirt or shorts as the weather gets warmer.  Head over to The Fashionista Next Door to see how she and others styled their white tees.

LBD Sundress Edition

Inspiration photo

LBD- Ross, old/ Clutch & Earrings- thrifted/ Shoes- Guess

Hi guys, coming at ya with another Style Me Friday challenge.  I might as well call these posts Style Me Monday :).  For those that once believed I was organized, sorry to crush your hopes and dreams!  *Waving hi to my BFF Devediah*  The challenge this week was to style your LBD with a pop of neon a la Kourtney Kardashian.  I love the way the pop of neon takes this look from simple to chic.  Because my LBD is more of a summer dress, I decided to pair it with sandals and a straw clutch.  I threw this on to meet up with a couple girlfriends this weekend.  An LBD is such a wardrobe essential and is perfect for those days you have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear.  Head over to The Fashionista Next Door to see how she and other fashionistas incorporated neon in to their looks.
Happy Monday
